What began as an ASID Show House, chaired by Shundra Harris, has turned into a great relationship with our Clients in providing design enhancements that truly fit the needs of 4-generations. The 2017 Show House featured 21 designers, an amazing Builder and 4-week public showing — all managed by Shundra. At the end of the Show House, the Client asked SHI to redesign a few of the spaces to fit the family’s changing needs. We graciously accepted and it has been an awesome experience.
We are careful to acknowledge the work of each designer and pay honor to the foundational work which we have built upon. Our photographs showcase our work to enhance the home’s design. See for yourself…

The engineering of the stair began in a wooded area. The structure was fabricated by wrapping a tree to test the appropriate height and scale. Once the prototype was tested and approved, the team met at the manufacturer’s to test the stability, foot room and approve the overall aesthetic, including the light show. Shundra was able to have a little fun with the lights. This type of design is where SHI shines and Shundra’s engineering background supports the vision.

Spacious suburban abode sun-bathed in natural sunlight which pours into every window. A palette of cool + soft hues of blue + warm brown + gray textures are combined to outline the subtle curvature of French lines etched in soft country. Sweeping entry architecture sets the scale upon entry. Oversized gold cage Feiss pendants hover over a super-sized kitchen island and are accented by a custom stainless + gold vent hood commissioned by Kitchen Kandy. Laundry is no chore here — no detail was spared in this custom designed cabinetry. This space serves as the built-In eating and sleeping quarters of the pets, designed by our team.
This family loves to live comfortably. SHI created a backdrop of easy living with a stylish foreground that complements the family of four’s busy lifestyle and the care of their many pets.
