Shundra Harris is a recognized leader in the interior design profession, serving in elected and appointed positions at the chapter and national level, shaping the next generation of designers as a university professor, and advocating for the advancement of interior design as a licensed profession in Texas.

Her leadership extends beyond the studio. Through organizational service, academic instruction, and public speaking, Shundra Harris has contributed to the professional standards, cultural relevance, and legislative recognition of interior design across Texas and nationally.

Shundra Harris is a Past President of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. She is among an elite group of design professionals to hold this elected leadership role. She subsequently served on the ASID National Board as a Chapter Support Team (CST) Member and was invited to continue in an unprecedented third consecutive year as CST Chair. This distinction reflects the depth of her organizational leadership and her national standing within the profession.

Adjunct Professor of Interior Design, Prairie View A&M University

One of the most meaningful dimensions of Shundra’s career has been her role as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Architecture at Prairie View A&M University—a historically Black university and one of Texas’s most prestigious architecture programs. In this role, she has shaped the design thinking, professional standards, and cultural sensibility of the next generation of interior designers.
